Position Title: Senior DevOps Engineer, CI/CD & Developer Infrastructure

Location: Draper, Utah

Team: Engineering

Position Overview

We are seeking a senior DevOps engineer to help build and scale the infrastructure that powers Redo's engineering velocity, release reliability, and developer productivity.

In this role, you will design, improve, and maintain CI/CD systems, developer infrastructure, automated validation pipelines, deployment workflows, observability, and AI-enabled tooling that help engineering teams ship faster with confidence.

You will work closely with product engineers, platform teams, and technical leaders to improve GitLab CI/CD, build performance, deployment automation, operational reliability, and the day-to-day developer experience across the organization.

Responsibilities

•  Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD infrastructure using GitLab CI/CD.

•  Own and optimize GitLab pipelines, runners, merge request workflows, caching, artifacts, and deployment automation.

•  Improve developer speed and code quality through faster builds, reliable validation, pipeline parallelization, better automation, and tighter feedback loops.

•  Build reusable internal workflows, tools, scripts, templates, and libraries that improve engineering speed and quality across teams.

•  Integrate AI tooling into infrastructure, CI/CD, debugging, release automation, code review support, and developer workflows.

•  Implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting for pipeline health, build failures, flaky jobs, deployment status, and release confidence.

•  Improve deployment automation, environment management, rollback paths, and operational readiness.

•  Develop automated validation frameworks for performance, load, reliability, security, and service contracts.

•  Partner with engineering teams to improve development workflows and embed scalable DevOps practices into the development lifecycle.

•  Provide technical guidance on CI/CD architecture, developer tooling, infrastructure reliability, workflow quality, and scalable automation.

•  Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve engineering speed, reliability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

•  Strong software development background with experience in full-stack web applications, platform engineering, or developer infrastructure.

•  Deep experience with CI/CD systems, with GitLab CI/CD strongly preferred.

•  Strong knowledge of GitLab pipelines, runners, merge request workflows, caching, artifacts, and deployment automation.

•  Experience building and maintaining build, release, validation, or developer infrastructure from the ground up.

•  Expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, or similar languages.

•  Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, build systems, cloud infrastructure, and deployment workflows.

•  Experience improving CI/CD performance, reliability, observability, and developer feedback loops.

•  Ability to diagnose complex failures across application code, infrastructure, dependencies, environments, and deployment systems.

•  Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

•  Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional technical initiatives.

•  Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of new tools, processes, and engineering practices across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

•  BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

•  Experience with GitLab administration, GitLab runners, pipeline optimization, or migration from other CI/CD systems.

•  Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud infrastructure, or infrastructure as code.

•  Experience with automation frameworks such as Jest, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.

•  Familiarity with RESTful API validation, service contract validation, end-to-end automation, and release verification.

•  Experience building AI-assisted tooling for developer productivity, CI debugging, code review support, infrastructure workflows, or release automation.

•  Experience conducting technical training sessions, workshops, or internal enablement programs.

•  Track record of successfully influencing engineering culture, delivery speed, and operational practices.
